Hi, My name is James McEwan and I am the sole founder of Joni Productions. Joni Productions is my independently run Film and TV script writing Production company. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, I started writing scripts in 1999 whilst I was working in the Film industry as Robson Green's stand-in in the ITV production of 'The Last Musketeer'. I started writing comedy and moved into drana and feature films. I worked in the Industry for a number of years and worked with some recognised actors such as Dan Aykroyd, Gillian Anderson, Charles Dance. My first job was as Jonny Lee Miller's stand-in, albeit for a couple of days, on the set of 'Complicity', the TV screenplay of Iian Banks's novel by the same title. My background is varied to an extent as I have worked in a number of industries, including the British Armed Forces; the gaming industry as a croupier; an actor/stand-in/extra for ITV, BBC, Channel 4, Filmfour and a number of independent companies; Radio broadcasting; but none of which really pointed me in the direction of the Film and TV Industry. I currently work offshore in the Oil and Gas Industry as a Health and Safety specialist. I have a passion for writing work that intends to stretch either the imagination or indeed the politics of wrting itself. Some of my work, which you can view if you e-mail me, within the site under the specified links, has been described as 'hugely innovative' (BBC Scotland), and 'bleak and relentless' (STV). These comments relate to two different types of work which indicates the different genres that I write about. But you can judge for yourselves as you read through the work. As well as the written work, I have also added pages covering a number of topics in my personal and professional life. A sort of 'life story' page by page, if you will. Thanks for visiting Joni Productions. James McEwan Joni Productions JMC2005(C)
